Transforming communities
Raising awareness and making mothers champions of our cause
Outreach
Because of the stigma that surrounds disability, many parents don’t know that treatment is even an option.
Through our Outreach Programme, we have partnered with schools, churches, local government, safari companies and fellow NGOs to connect with communities all over the country.
We educate families on the treatments available to their children, and the many ways we can help them claim the healthy, happy futures they deserve.
Mamas Education Programme
On average, a quarter of our patients are breastfeeding babies, so their mothers stay with them at Kafika House. We make their time with us enriching and transformational.
In our Mamas Education Programme, they learn about nutrition, immunisation, first aid, hygiene and sanitation, while mental health sessions help them heal from the trauma that often accompanies disability.
They also learn business and life skills, empowering them to improve their circumstances once they return home.
From stigma to hope
Our Outreach Programme fights misinformation and cultural practices that deny children with disabilities a place in society.
We provide communities with education that counters stigma, while mothers returning with recovered children bear testament to what is possible with a little hope and a lot of love.

“I am a confident champion; it has been hard in my community for children to go for treatment, but now my two children who have been treated for clubfoot are testimony.”
